Pesca nos rios de MT está proibida até 31 de janeiro para a reprodução dos peixes

Multa para quem descumprir a legislação varia de R$ 1 mil a R$ 100 mil, com acréscimo de R$ 20 por kg de peixe apreendido. Nesse período só é permitida a pesca de subsistência.

A pesca nos rios que compõem as três bacias hidrográficas de Mato Grosso (Paraguai, Amazônica e Araguaia-Tocantins) está proibida a partir deste domingo (1º), para a reprodução dos peixes. A proibição seguirá até o dia 31 de janeiro de 2018.

Quem for pego pescando durante esse período, vai responder por crime ambiental. Para evitar o descumprimento da lei, equipes do Batalhão da Polícia Ambiental, da Secretaria Estadual de Meio Ambiente (Sema), do Juizado Volante Ambiental (Juvam), da Delegacia Especializada de Meio Ambiente (Dema), do Ibama Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis (Ibama) e do Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade (ICMBio) reforçam a fiscalizar nos rios.

Além disso, quem desrespeitar a legislação, poderá ter o pescado e os equipamentos apreendidos, além de levar multa que varia de R$ 1 mil a R$ 100 mil, com acréscimo de R$ 20 por kg de peixe apreendido.

Durante a piracema, só é permitida a pesca de subsistência, quando o pescado é usado para a alimentação da família. Mesmo assim, a pesca tem que ser na beira do rio e o limite é de 3 kg de peixe. Peixarias e outros tipos de estabelecimentos precisam declarar à Sema a quantia de pescado que têm no estoque até terça-feira (3).

Até 2015, o período de defeso ocorria entre os meses de novembro e fevereiro, mas estudos realizados por instituições de pesquisa que fazem parte do Conselho Estadual de Pesca indicaram a necessidade de alteração das datas por causa da mudança no comportamento reprodutivo dos peixes monitorados.

Segundo esse estudo, 75% dos peixes que vivem nos rios do estado iniciam a fase de ovulação em outubro e 40% terminam esse período em janeiro.
